Is this surveillance?
No. Little Guardian doesn't stream your child's location or send arrival pings. It stays quiet until you leave your home safe zone or hold SOS. You'll see this in the demo at the top: nothing happens until you move.
Does it work without signal, or during load-shedding?
Yes. The app is built offline-first. An SOS pressed with no signal is queued on your phone and sent the moment you reconnect, along with the location it had at the time.
Who can see my child's information?
The contacts you add yourself and, if your family is registered through a safety organisation, that organisation's response team. The services that deliver an alert, like SMS and email, only ever see what it takes to send it; our full privacy policy covers those processors and any legally required disclosures. We don't sell location data or show it to advertisers.
What does it do to my battery?
Only when you turn on the Leave-Home Reminder. While it's on, your phone checks its position roughly every 30 seconds or whenever you move 50 metres, so more battery use than an app that never tracks, but nowhere near a fitness tracker logging GPS all day. Turn the reminder off and the checks stop.
Is Little Guardian POPIA aligned?
Yes. Your family owns its data, you choose who receives alerts, and you can delete your account and everything with it at any time.
